A Motorcycle crash on the Foothills Parkway claims the life of a Fairview Man

TOWNSEND, TN-- Rangers with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park reported that one person has died after a single motorcycle crash on The Foothills Parkway Saturday afternoon.

 

According to authorities, the driver, David Wayne Birdsong, 57 of Fairview, TN may have been driving too fast for conditions when he lost control of his motorcycle and veered into a drainage ditch. Birdsong was pronounced dead while being transported to Blount Memorial Hospital. Officers say no other vehicles were involved.

According to authorities, this makes the fourth person who has died from motorcycle crashes so far this year in the National Park.

The investigation is still ongoing.
